Our fifth annual Education Matters Grants program runs January 27 - February 28, 2020. The program supports classroom teachers by awarding 10 $300 grants to use for instructional materials.
To apply,* complete a short form on our Facebook page before February 28, 2020, describing curriculum materials you need for your classroom — such as books, technology or manipulatives — and how your students will benefit from using these materials.
Winners will be announced in March 2020.
Since 1933, Schools Financial has proudly supported teachers — and everyone in the education field — in the communities we serve.
This program will award 10 $300 grants to 10 teachers within our field of membership. Entries will be evaluated by a judging panel based on the following criteria: 1) the level of need as described by the written entry; 2) the percentage of the school’s student body utilizing free or reduced cost meals; and 3) location of the school to determine that it is within our field of membership. One grant per school. The program will run from January 27, 2020, to February 28, 2020, and is not affiliated with Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Award grant recipients will be notified by March 9, 2020, and agree to have their photo taken and allow Schools Financial, a division of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union to use the image without restriction in promotional materials. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Limit one entry per applicant. Schools Financial employees and their family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible. Grant applicants do not need to be members of Schools Financial to apply. Recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes. Grants will be made in the form of counter checks to recipients either in person at their school or at a Schools Financial branch within 30 days of grant notification. If a grant recipient does not respond to a selection notification within five business days, an alternative recipient may be chosen.
